From the WWE Rumor Mill: UK Show to start filming soon
What's the story?
According to the Rumor Roundup on Cageside Seats, the much-anticipated WWE UK Show is expected to start filming soon.
In case you didn't know...
The WWE has been teasing an exclusively UK based weekly show ever since the UK tournament concluded in January this year. However, for some reason, the WWE never made any official statement as to when this show will officially start.
The UK tournament was held on the 14th and 15th of January at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, Lancashire, and was a huge success.
Tyler Bate emerged victorious after he defeated the current UK Champion, Pete Dunne, in the finals of the tournament.
The heart of the matter
Even though the UK Superstars have made regular appearances on WWE shows like NXT and 205 Live, fans have been waiting for a long time to watch these Superstars on their own exclusive show.
The UK Championship has been defended on multiple occasions at the NXT Takeover events. Pete Dunne defended his UK title against Johnny Gargano at Takeover: WarGames recently.
The UK Superstars are hugely popular not just in the UK, but all around the globe; having the UK show on the WWE Network will surely help increase the number of subscribers and give the existing ones a great new show to enjoy.
The speculation is that the UK show will be called WWE UK: King Of The Ring.
What's next?
With the UK show starting the filming soon, it can be expected that the show will be on-air sometime early next year.
Till then, the UK Superstars will continue to make appearances on NXT and 205 Live so that the buzz around the product does not die down.
We can expect the UK Championship to be defended at other promotions as well, especially until the WWE Network show officially starts.
Author's take
This is a great time to be a WWE fan with so much wrestling content available, and with the UK Show being added to the WWE Networks, things will only get better.
It can be hoped for now that this show starts as soon as possible so we can watch greats like Pete Dunne, Trent Seven and Tyler Bate on a regular basis.
