From the WWE Rumor Mill: Undertaker and John Cena will wrestle at WrestleMania 34

Will the Undertaker and Cena actually wrestle?
Will the Undertaker and Cena actually wrestle?

What's the story?

WWE's flagship show WrestleMania is just days away and it seems that John Cena will be attending as a fan, after The Undertaker failed to respond to Cena's challenges for a match at the show.

This has led to speculation that a match might not even be happening, even if Taker does appear. However, there is now speculation that a match will indeed happen.

In case you didn't know...

John Cena's storyline over the last few months has been one of desperation to get on the WrestleMania card. He wrestled at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Fastlane PPVs, losing every opportunity and eventually settled on challenging The Deadman to a match.

He then spent four weeks cutting promos on Monday Night Raw, trying to incite Undertaker to respond and accept his challenge, but each week Taker was conspicuous by his absence from the shows, with the last Raw basically confirming that Cena will be attending 'Mania as a fan.

The heart of the matter

Whilst no-one seems to be in any doubt that Undertaker will be appearing at WrestleMania in some capacity, recent reports have suggested that there may not be a match between John Cena and 'Taker, but there might be a confrontation between the two.

However, Ticket Drew, a Twitter user who has been known in the past to have inside WWE knowledge, has indicated that a match between the two will definitely be happening.

He seems to be so confident that he's actually inviting people to bet against him, putting his own money on the line if he's wrong.

What's next?

It seems that WrestleMania will begin with John Cena in the crowd watching the show and at some point the lights will go out, the gong will sound, and Taker will appear. Whether or not that leads to an actual match is to be seen, as is often the case with wrestling rumors.

However, if The Undertaker isn't wrestling at this year's WrestleMania, then why has he been training so hard, and why were people commenting about him looking the best he's looked in years at the Raw 25 Anniversary show.

Author's take

It's worth noting that Ticket Drew was adamant that Undertaker would challenge John Cena to a WrestleMania match at the RAW 25 Anniversary show and that obviously didn't happen. So I don't think we should get too carried away here.
