From the WWE Rumor Mill: Update on Dean Ambrose's rumored return at WWE's Greatest Royal Rumble
What’s the story?
On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Dean Ambrose’s rumored return to WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble PPV was briefly addressed.
Apparently, Ambrose has been training, however, is unlikely to make an in-ring comeback at the aforementioned event.
In case you didn’t know…
Dean Ambrose has been out of action owing to a triceps injury since December of last year.
In light of his torn triceps injury, several experts recently noted that Ambrose isn’t likely to return to return until August or September this year.
The heart of the matter
Regardless, per veteran professional wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez, Dean Ambrose has indeed been training, whilst simultaneously rehabbing his triceps injury.
That, in turn, has been noted as a positive sign as regards Ambrose’s in-ring return possibly coming sooner than what was initially expected.
Nevertheless, it was also emphasized that Ambrose will not be at the WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble event.
What’s next?
Fans can expect Dean Ambrose to make his in-ring comeback sooner than the expected dates of August/September.
Meanwhile, the WWE puts forth one of the 2018 calendar year’s biggest events as the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV event airs from the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 27th.
Author’s take
Honestly speaking, Dean Ambrose would be better off taking a cautious approach when it comes to returning from a triceps injury—something that, per general medical guidelines, takes no less than nine months to fully heal.
Athletes are usually advised to refrain from engaging in strenuous workouts and full-contact sporting activities in particular while recovering from triceps injuries.
Now, although Dean Ambrose has a reputation for being one of the toughest individuals in all of professional wrestling, one can’t help but hope that the former WWE Champion chooses to take a slow & steady approach toward his comeback rather than a hasty, potentially dangerous one.
