From the WWE Rumor Mill: Update on Jeff Hardy
What's the story?
Following his arrest earlier this month, many were uncertain regarding Jeff Hardy's likeliness to return to the WWE, but the company seems to be moving forward with bringing him back to TV.
Jeff Hardy was spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla. in preparation to return to television according to a report published by PWInsider.
In case you didn't know...
Hardy has been out of action since sustaining a shoulder injury back in September. Having had successful surgery in October, he was then given a time-frame of four to six months in terms of making a full recovery and subsequent return.
The heart of the matter
Matt Hardy's Ultimate Deletion at the Hardy compound aired tonight on Monday Night Raw and featured Jeff debuting as "Brother Nero" to the WWE audience, though he was not mentioned by name. Considering his legal situation, many were expecting the company to edit him out of the match entirely - but that was not the case.
Hardy was arrested in Carrabus County in Concord, North Carolina on March 10 at 10:20pm for driving while under the influence when he allegedly ran off the runaway and struck a guardrail before the car spun and stopped in the middle of the right lane on Concord Parkwat.
Later released, his driver's licence was suspended as part of a pretrial revocation. The police estimates show the damage to his 2016 Cadillac may be $8,000 as well as $5,000 from damages to the guardrail.
Following his arrest, WWE issued the following statement regarding Jeff's situation:
"Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials."
What's next?
Jeff is expected to return to Carrabus County Courts on April 16 for his trial, which may have an effect on any plans going forward.
Author's take
Jeff's return will do wonders for Raw whilst providing more star power to the brand, but whether he'd be better served abandoning the tag team act to resume his singles career remains to be seen at present.
