From the WWE Rumor Mill: Update on the illness affecting Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas

"The Big Dog" has been stricken by illness

What's the story?

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer suggested that Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas and Roman Reigns had indeed been stricken by viral meningitis. This story emerged after a report from Wrestling Inc. suggested that the wrestlers were suffering from mumps.

In case you didn't know...

It appears that Bo Dallas was diagnosed with the illness about two weeks ago, following which he was absent from television. Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, the older brother of Bo Dallas, seemingly contracted the disease from him and were officially ruled out of WWE TLC 2017 on October 20, 2017.

The heart of the matter

Although WWE hasn't confirmed the exact nature of the illness that Reigns, Wyatt and Dallas have contracted, Dave Meltzer was adamant that the three performers had been stricken with viral meningitis.

Bryan Alvarez then claimed that all the members of the Raw roster had received shots after Bo Dallas' positive diagnosis. He added that they would be given the "all clear" if they didn't experience any symptoms three weeks after their shots.

What's next?

TLC will take place on October 22, 2017. Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt will be replaced by Kurt Angle and AJ Styles in their respective matches.

Since there is no official word on the exact illness that these performers have contracted, it is impossible to speculate on a timetable for their return.

Author's take

In times like these, all we can do is wish Roman Reigns, Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt a speedy recovery.

However, this dark cloud does have a silver lining: the in-ring return of a certain Olympic Gold Medalist. What do you think of the new card? Sound off in the comments below.
