From the WWE Rumor Mill: Will Mick Foley be on Raw 25?
What’s the story?
WWE Hall of Famer, the 'Hardcore Legend' Mick Foley has yet to be officially announced for next week's 25th anniversary episode of RAW.
Mick was actually included in local advertising for the show but has yet to be officially announced. Mick commented on the same in an interview with The Mirror.
In case you didn’t know...
Other than one or two shows that happened during his 2008 - 2011 run with Impact Wrestling, Mick has appeared on pretty much all special episodes of WWE Raw. This should be no surprise as the former Raw General Manager is one of the greatest superstars in RAW history.
The heart of the matter
In a recent interview with The Mirror, this is what Mick had to say:
"I've been invited, I'm trying to clear out time from something I had already committed to. Whether I'm there in person or not, I believe I will be there in spirit. This show literally changed my life. It was such a big part of my life. Not just from the time I was on it. I'm almost always watching on Monday night with my children, so it has been a big part of my life, whether I'm on the show or not."
Some of Mick's most memorable RAW segments include the Vince McMahon hospital visit which featured Mr Socko's debut, and the 'This is Your Life' segment with The Rock. His WWE Championship win over The Rock in January 1999 is probably the most memorable, as it was also the night going forward that WCW Nitro would never beat Monday Night Raw in the rating game again.
What’s next?
The WWE Raw 25th Anniversary show takes place next Monday on the 22nd of January 2018 in both the Barclays Center and Manhattan Center in New York. We can only hope Foley clears his schedule in time.
Author’s take
Mick Foley is easily one of the greatest superstars on the history of WWE. His matches on Raw speak for themselves as he has had memorable classics with The Rock, Triple H, The Undertaker, Steve Austin and many more.
It would be such a shame if he is unable to appear on what will be the biggest episode of RAW in several years and many years to come.
