From the WWE Rumor Mill: WWE denies Neville's departure

Ther
There's another update on Neville's WWE status

What's the story?

There have been many rumours floating around about Neville walking out of the company before Raw. Some reports are even stating that Neville asked for his release.

However, PW Insider reports WWE is denouncing those rumours as fabricated.

In case you didn't know...

Before Neville was NXT or Cruiserweight Champion, he travelled the globe and delighted audiences everywhere as Pac. This simple one-syllable name belonged to one of the most exciting performers on the independent scene.

But since coming to WWE, Neville hasn't really been utilized to his full extent. After surviving a Mighty Mouse-like gimmick, he was limited to facing only the 205 Live roster but at least he became the King Of The Cruiserweights in the process.

The heart of the matter

There were reports saying Neville walked out before Raw this week in Indianapolis, which could be why the Cruiserweight Championship featuring Kalisto and Enzo Amore was featured in the main event of the show. Initially, the main event was rumoured to be Neville and Enzo Amore.

But a new report from PW Insider claims several sources within WWE have denied Neville's departure from the world's largest wrestling promotion.

What's next?

But whatever happens in this situation, Neville will be fine. If anything this could result in Neville's star shining even brighter in the world's independent scene.

He might have to change his name back to Pac, but Neville's options are pretty wide open for him if he leaves WWE. But at this point, it doesn't look like WWE is going to deny any claims concerning his release.

Author's take

WWE might simply be denying Neville's departure from the company because they are still trying to work something out with him.

He is the King Of The Cruiserweights after all and WWE certainly doesn't want him leaving the company, let alone popping up somewhere else where he might have even better matches like ROH, New Japan, Impact Wrestling or Lucha Underground.
