From the WWE Rumor Mill: WWE's plans for Jeff Hardy & Seth Rollins revealed
What’s the story?
As reported by John Pollock of Post Wrestling, Jeff Hardy is set to move to SmackDown.
Additionally, it was noted that Seth Rollins is likely to remain on RAW.
In case you didn’t know…
The WWE is presently going through a Superstar Shake-Up—a kayfabe annual WWE brand draft, which sees several notable Superstars be traded between the RAW and SmackDown brands.
The aforementioned WWE Superstar Shake-Up is believed to have a huge impact on the WWE’s future storylines over the course of the ensuing 12 months; as new matchups & feuds become a possibility with transfers of multiple top Superstars from one brand to another.
The heart of the matter
Veteran pro-wrestling journalist John Pollock noted that “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy will be moving from Monday Night RAW to SmackDown Live.
It was on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW that Jeff faced United States Champion Jinder Mahal for the title; defeating the latter. While Mahal is now officially a member of the RAW roster, Hardy is expected to be drafted to SmackDown.
Furthermore, despite ongoing rumors regarding the possibility of Seth Rollins being drafted from RAW to SmackDown, experts believe that Rollins is likely to stay on RAW for now.
What’s next?
United States Champion Jeff Hardy is set to defend his title against Jinder Mahal at the WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble PPV event which takes place at the King Abdullah International Stadium, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 27th.
Also on the card, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins will defend his title against Finn Balor, The Miz & Samoa Joe in a Ladder Match.
Author’s take
Honestly speaking, the WWE seems to be adopting a great strategy by booking Jeff Hardy to SmackDown, whilst retaining Seth Rollins on RAW.
With his brother “Woken” Matt Hardy now having teamed up with Bray Wyatt, Jeff is better off performing as a Singles Superstar rather than functioning as a third wheel for Matt & Bray’s Tag Team.
Meanwhile, Rollins seems to be a perfect fit for RAW, what with him holding the prestigious Intercontinental title.
