From the WWE Rumor Mill: WWE will tease The Undertaker vs John Cena for WrestleMania 34 on tonight's RAW
What's the story?
As reported by Cageside Seats, the build to John Cena's match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania will continue on Raw tonight.
In case you didn't know...
Previously, it was reported that the match between The Undertaker and John Cena was still planned to happen at WrestleMania 34.
Last month, we reported that WWE has started teasing The Undertaker vs John Cena.
The heart of the matter
According to Dave Meltzer, The Undertaker wanted a match against Cena at WrestleMania 33 but Vince McMahon pushed for Reigns as ‘Taker's opponent considering the long-term needs of the company as opposed to the short-term.
During Survivor Series PPV, The Undertaker was backstage and in great shape. This started the rumor of The Undertaker getting ready for another match at WrestleMania. The Undertaker made an appearance on RAW's 25th-anniversary show on 22 January 2018 and delivered a rather confusing promo.
On February 13th episode of RAW, John Cena opened the show and came down to the ring to address his determination to headline WrestleMania. Cena pointed at the WrestleMania sign and shared the importance of the event in the life of a WWE superstar. Then, came the most interesting part of the promo when John Cena said that WrestleMania can ''bring a legend back from the dead''. It was rumored that John Cena's promo was definitely a reference to The Undertaker and WWE is still headed for that match at WrestleMania 34.
Today Cageside Seats has reported that the build to John Cena's match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania will continue on RAW tonight.
What's next?
This week's RAW is already one of the most anticipated episodes in recent times as Reigns and Lesnar will be face-to-face for the first time after the match has been made official at Elimination Chamber.
Looks like WWE will not waste any more time and start the build for The Undertaker vs Cena as well. This week RAW will take place at Little Caesars Arena, Detroit, MI.
Author's take
This is one of those matches fans have wanted to see on WrestleMania for a long time.
There is another rumor that the build for the match will happen on SmackDown Live, which I think is planned to improve SmackDown Live ratings. The small tease on RAW could very well plant seeds for Tuesday's episode.
