From the WWE Rumor Mill: New match planned for WWE Survivor Series 2017

Could there be yet another match added to Survivor Series?
Could there be yet another match added to Survivor Series?

What's the story?

According to Mike Johnson from PWInsider.com, Enzo Amore defending his Cruiserweight Title against Kalisto might not be the only match on the Survivor Series-show, with the WWE considering a new match that hasn't been announced yet.

In case you didn't know...

The card for this year's Survivor Series pay-per-view is incredibly stacked, not only is every current title-holder appearing on the card, but the likes of Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Shane McMahon, Kurt Angle and Triple H are all wrestling as well.

The heart of the matter

Pay-per-view pre-shows usually have two matches on, and if rumours are to be believed, the WWE is currently planning to add a second, not as yet announced, match to their already packed card.

There has been talk backstage today of adding another Kickoff show match with a Raw vs. Smackdown theme.

As you can see from the quote, the details surrounding this match are incredibly light on the ground, and it's also unclear how far along plans for this match have come, as it could just have been nothing more than a suggestion.

What's next?

there are now quite a few high profile names who haven't found themselves in a match at Survivor Series with Elias, Bray Wyatt and Jason Jordan off the card for the red brand, and former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn not wrestling for SmackDown.

It's possible we could see these guys, and everyone else involved in some sort of multiple man gimmick match.

Author's take

If this match is added it would really help to make Survivor Series feel like an important pay-per-view, as it's usually only Wrestlemania that finds a way to get as many current active wrestlers on the card as possible, usually in some sort of battle royale.
