From the WWE Rumour Mill: Tag team to make WWE return on SmackDown with new gimmick
What's the story?
Two of the big men in the Tag Team division may soon be returning as a tag team soon. PW Insider reported that Luke Harper and Eric Rowan could return to a television with a do-over and as tag-team.
In case you didn't know....
Both Erick Rowan and Luke Harper have both been off television for a long time on Smackdown. They took part in singles competition during their latest runs on television, but it was when they were together as a tag team that they looked at their best.
The heart of the matter
There has been talk about the pair of Eric Rowan and Luke Harper getting new gimmicks as a tag team. The two of them have reportedly worked in matches against each other lately, but the two might team up with each other instead.
The Smackdown Tag Division, while fantastic with the Usos, New Day and Breezango, lacks real depth, and the addition of Harper and Rowan might improve the situation considerably.
What's next?
If Harper and Rowan are being reformed with a new gimmick, the rest of the roster could be in trouble. The former NXT Tag Champions are formidable as a unit and they may be revealed as the ones who attacked Breezango.
Author's take
Harper and Rowan are amazing tag partners and are almost unbeatable when together. If they do return with a new gimmick and look, they might indeed have a new lease on life.
