From the WWE Rumor Mill: Huge change in character for Bayley planned?
What's the story?
When you think of Bayley, you think hugs, smiles, and other nice things. According to wrestling guru Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, WWE may have planned for Bayley to turn heel in the near future.
Based on her pairing with Elias for a WWE Live Event, Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez suggested that while the company may be teasing friction between Sasha Banks and Bayley, the latter could be the one to turn. We thank Ring Side News for the update.
In case you didn't know...
Many had predicted great things in Bayley's future. She was the ultimate babyface and some had dubbed her a female version of John Cena, anticipating many good things when she got called up.
Unfortunately, the main roster audience could not connect with her at all. Bayley slid down the roster through her lacklustre run, much to the dismay of the WWE Universe.
Last week, we saw the first tease of a feud between Sasha Banks and Bayley.
The heart of the matter
It was a match listing at the Madison Square Garden, that made Meltzer arrive at a startling conclusion:
WWE sent the card for Madison Square Garden and one of the matches on the Madison Square Garden card on March 16th is John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. Bayley & Elias, which sounds like Bayley may be going heel.So perhaps the Bayley/Sasha thing will be Bayley turning and not Sasha… Maybe.
It should be noted that Elias and Bayley are teaming up for the Mixed Match challenge tournament that's being aired on Facebook Watch.
What's next?
The lead up to the Women's Elimination Chamber should be quite interesting. Will Bayley turn heel before the match even transpires? Are we jumping to conclusions, because maybe nothing will happen?
Author's take
I can't imagine Bayley turning heel, quite honestly. She's not a good actor, and a heel Bayley may just get the kind of reaction Jason Jordan has been getting.
We've all seen Sasha Banks as a heel in NXT and know that she can do a very commendable job.
