From the WWE Rumor Mill: Is there legitimate heat between Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman?

Is there legitimate heat between Brock and Braun?
Is there legitimate heat between Brock and Braun?

What's the story?

Brock Lesnar defended his Universal Championship at last night's Royal Rumble against Braun Strowman and Kane, but even though Lesnar was able to retain his Championship, it seems that he didn't come out of the match unscathed as he and Strowman seemingly began to shoot wrestle after The Monster Among Men hit Lesnar with a brutal knee to the head.

In case you didn't know...

Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman have been feuding now for a number of months and Lesnar is one of only two men who has ever pinned The Monster Among Men. In the build-up to this match saw Strowman completely dominating Lesnar with many of the WWE Universe believing that Braun would come out on top.

It is thought that Braun would one day be the star that takes Brock's place when he decides to retire since WWE will be lacking a powerhouse when Kane and Big Show decide to walk away from the company in the coming years.

The heart of the matter

As part of their bout last night it seems that Braun hit a stiff knee to the head of Brock that made him quite mad and led to him jumping up and punching Braun in the face a number of times in what looked like a receipt.

WWE was forced to stop the audio a number of times because both men were cursing so loudly after they decided to shoot wrestle. Both men delivered some hard blows to each other throughout the match, but it is thought that these were a little too realistic to have originally been planned as part of the match.

What's next?

It is unknown when Lesnar will be returning to WWE, but it is thought that his next challenger will be Roman Reigns at WrestleMania if The Beast isn't scheduled to be part of Elimination Chamber in four weeks time.

Author's take

Braun and Brock are both big guys and it seems that they got in a number of hits last night to prove that they were no pushover. It could have just been the fact that Braun slipped and kneed Lesnar in the head and the champion realized that he needed to give him a receipt. It's highly likely that this is the last time this duo will face each other for a while, so it shouldn't really become a problem if there is some real-life heat there moving forward.
