From the WWE Rumour Mill: Major spoilers suggest two huge Survivor Series matches to be announced on tonight's Raw
What's the story?
We've just reported that a major name is allegedly backstage for tonight's Monday Night Raw as the WWE are putting their foot on the gas for the build for their next pay-per-view, Survivor Series. However PWInsider.com has revealed there are more plans for more Survivor Series build on tonight's Monday Night Raw, leading to two huge matches on the pay-per-view
In case you didn't know...
The WWE has already spoiled one of the matches planned for Survivor Series with a video package for the upcoming show that they aired during TLC 2017. That match is, of course, the Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar match which 'The Beast Incarnate' was supposed to respond to tonight.
The heart of the matter
The first of two major reveals from PWInsider suggest that there will be a 5-on-5 Raw vs SmackDown LIVE Women's Survivor Series match, which isn't a particularly shocking reveal. However what is shocking is that, despite what she said on her Raw Talk interview, it doesn't look like Alexa Bliss will be captain, with a match planned for Monday Night Raw to determine the team's leader.
The Raw women are set to take on the Smackdown women at Survivor Series, with Bayley wrestling Sasha Banks to see who will captain Raw's team.
The second match pertains to the Cruiserweight division. It is expected that a traditional Survivor Series match will be announced on Monday Night Raw exclusively featuring the Cruiserweight division, which makes sense given the recent actions on 205 LIVE and Raw.
Also, a traditional Survivor Series match where Enzo Amore captains a team of Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari taking on Kalisto's team of himself, Sin Cara, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali is expected to be announced.
What's next?
If these rumours are to be believed it looks like the Survivor Series card is truly starting to take shape, with the Champion vs Champion match between Jinder Mahal and Brock Lesnar and three traditional Survivor Series matches featuring Cruiserweights, women and men.
Author's take
I've never been a fan of Raw vs Smackdown exclusive pay-per-views as I don't believe they have the same investment in terms of drama and what's at stake as other pay-per-views. However, if these rumours are to be believed, there's going to be a lot of action between a lot of wrestlers at Survivor Series, which will be entertaining.
