From the WWE Rumor Mill: More Superstars to be added to 205 LIVE

Could 205 LIVE get even bigger?
Could 205 LIVE get even bigger?

What's the story?

205 LIVE has seen somewhat of a resurgence as of late with the Cruiserweights being given a greater share of the spotlight on Monday Night RAW and plenty of time at the recent RAW brand pay-per-view TLC 2017; and now, according to PWInsider, their roster is about to be filled with some new talent.

In case you didn't know...

This year, two of 205 LIVE's top stars quit the WWE, with Austin Aries and Neville departing. Currently, the division is being helmed, rather bizarrely, by Enzo Amore who is the current champion. However, his addition seems to have spurred on the rest of the roster with Drew Gulak and a newly added Kalisto impressing as a result.

The heart of the matter

Mike Johnson from PWInsider has said that he believes more Superstars are going to be added to 205 LIVE to strengthen its roster and that we're going to see it happen over the next few weeks.

Johnson didn't mention where the talent would come from, whether existing main roster stars will be moved to 205 LIVE like Neville and Kalisto were or if there will be call-ups from NXT.

What's next?

There aren't a great number of Superstars who could qualify for 205 LIVE on the main roster; Sin Cara is a possibility but outside of him, you start going near guys like Heath Slater and Sami Zayn.

But in NXT, there are guys like Oney Lorcan, Johnny Gargano and the newly signed Lio Rush who would all make pretty good additions to the roster.

Author's take

I'm choosing to see this potential news as evidence of the WWE's continued investment and focus being put on 205 LIVE following Neville's walk out. The company has an incredible group of athletes in their cruiserweight division and they really need to start doing them justice and making them shine on television.
