From the WWE Rumour Mill: NXT star teases joining Monday Night RAW
What's the story?
NXT Superstar Liv Morgan tweeted during tonight's Monday Night RAW teasing that she would potentially be joining the red brand, possibly during the Women's Title match main event.
In case you didn't know...
During tonight's Monday Night RAW Alexa Bliss spoke to RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and mentioned that he should get rid of Mickie James and get in some 'Mae Young Classic' competitors instead, this led to Angle booking Bliss in a Women's title match against Mickie James to main event the show.
The heart of the matter
In a direct response to Alexa Bliss' oddly specific choice of words, NXT Superstar Liv Morgan posted the following tweet, possibly suggesting that there was more to Bliss' words than first met the eye.
If it isn't Liv Morgan herself who is debuting, maybe she knows that there's something else planned for other members of the NXT roster, potentially members who were part of the Mae Young Classic. Could we be about to see Rhea Ripley, Candice Lerae or Bianca Belair g a surprise appearance?
What's next?
We haven't had a call-up from NXT in a while and a shock call-up before Survivor Series would certainly help in drumming up interest in WWE programming. We will have to wait and see what happens.
It's possible that Morgan could interfere in the main event title match, siding with either Alexa Bliss or Mickie James to influence who remains the Raw Women's Champion, or perhaps some sort of NXT invasion angle is being planned.
Author's take
If WWE does call Liv Morgan up instead of, say, The Iconic Duo, then I think they'll be making a big mistake. I like Morgan but she's certainly not 'there' yet and would not be a great replacement for the recently departed Emma or Summer Rae.
