From the WWE Rumour Mill: Paige to miss Royal Rumble due to injury

Is Paige too injured to compete in the Royal Rumble?
Is Paige too injured to compete in the Royal Rumble?

What's the story?

Squared Circle Sirens are suggesting that Paige will miss the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and will not be part of the historic first-ever women's Royal Rumble match due to an injury she suffered at a house show in December.

In case you didn't know...

Paige recently was at the centre of an injury scare when a house-show match was prematurely stopped and Paige was stretchered out of the arena, footage of which you can see below.

There are further reports that the 'Anti-Diva' was seen at the hotel afterwards and appeared to fine, but some sources are now saying that the injury was much more significant than it initially seemed.

The heart of the matter

Squared Circle Sirens have published an article based on speculation from PWInsider that Paige will miss out on appearing at the Royal Rumble as a result of the above injury.

WWE Superstar Paige who suffered a head injury during WWE live event on Long Island last month will reportedly not be apart of the first ever women’s rumble as she won’t be cleared in time, according to PWInsider.

The article goes on to suggest that despite initial reports suggesting that the injury wasn't too serious and that Paige would be fine that the injury she suffered is thought to be a lot more serious and it's unlikely she'll be cleared in time for the event.

What's next?

This news seems to have some semblance of credibility to it. Paige was immediately pulled from all live and house shows following the injury and hasn't actively competed on WWE television since the injury with Absolution only getting a backstage promo on the January 1st Monday Night RAW and Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville competing in a tag-team match with Paige watching them on the 8th.

Author's take

If Paige does miss the Rumble it would be a bitter blow for the returning Superstar who has just come back from a prolonged injury. I have my fingers crossed that she'll be cleared and will be able to appear as I'd imagine, where she is fit to compete, that she'd be a favourite to win the whole thing.
