From the WWE Rumor Mill: Possible spoiler for the SmackDown Live Superstar Shakeup
What's the story?
WWE is set to go on a tour to South Africa this week, with Live Events lined up in Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg. The Raw stars are set to be a part of this tour, and will likely need to leave early on Tuesday Night to be there for the Live Event on Wednesday.
While this is not conclusive, Cageside Seats has speculated it might mean that the SmackDown Live Superstar Shake-up will have to make do with the stars who are not going on the tour.
In case you don't know...
The Monday Night Raw Superstar Shakeup saw superstars from the Blue Brand debut on the Red Brand. With Jinder Mahal, Bobby Roode, Natalya, The Riott Squad, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin making their debuts (among others), the SmackDown Live roster has been left with very few stars.
Drew McIntyre also made his main roster return, when he showed up as Ziggler's partner on Raw.
The heart of the matter
Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, The Bar, Finn Balor, Asuka, Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss are all advertised for Wednesday's WWE Live Event in Cape Town. WWE's advertisements are always subject to change, so it is not safe to presume that the WWE stars advertised for the Live Tour will not be on SmackDown Live this week.
You can read about Dean Ambrose being advertised here.
There are rumours, however, that the backstage roster that the Blue Brand are left to choose from is sparse and will feature those stars who did not go for the Live Event tour.
Monday Night's episode of Raw saw SmackDown Live get their first confirmed draft pick of the Superstar Shakeup when Kurt Angle revealed that the Miz was set to leave Monday Nights and go back to the Blue Brand.
What's next?
This week's episode of SmackDown Live will reveal which stars from Raw will join the Miz on the Blue Branded Show, as the Superstar Shakeup continues.
Author's take
There are many stars still not advertised for the tour who may make the jump to the Blue Brand. With Jeff Hardy being a likely target to make the move, SmackDown Live may get back their United States Title which they lost when Jinder Mahal brought it over to Raw.
