From the WWE Rumour Mill: Possible reasons why Charlotte Flair is being kept off TV revealed
What's the story?
When she was on RAW, she was the woman who carried the division on her able shoulders, over many months. Now that she's on SmackDown Live, we haven't seen Charlotte Flair on TV in a while.
According to a report on the 'Rumor Roundup' section of Cageside Seats, the reason for this is twofold. The first pertains to her book and the second, to WWE's in-house creative team.
In case you didn't know...
Charlotte Flair achieved accolade after accolade when she was part of the red brand. Not only did she have an undefeated pay-per-view streak, she held the RAW Women's Championship for the majority of her time on the show. Moreover, Flair and Banks made history as they main evented a pay-per-view event, with a historic 'Hell in a Cell' match.
Then she moved to SmackDown Live, turned babyface and has been out of the mix for a while. Fans have been wondering why, for a while now!
The heart of the matter
According to Cageside Seats, WWE Creative does not have any active storylines for Charlotte Flair, at this moment. She's not in the title picture that currently revolves around the SmackDown Women's Champion, Natalya, with Naomi contesting for the coveted prize.
A far more important reason could be that Charlotte will be promoting her new book over the next few months entitled- 'Second Nature: The Legacy of Ric Flair and the Rise of Charlotte'. While it was not made clear if this would entail Charlotte Flair taking time off, one assumes that could definitely be a distinct possibility, over the months that follow.
What's next?
Nothing, if you're a Charlotte Flair fan! You still get your weekly dose of Natalya vs. Naomi, with Carmella teasing a cash-in.
Author's take
Keeping Charlotte Flair off television when she's part of the roster is the equivalent of keeping John Cena off television. If there's nothing for her, write something for her! It's criminal to not do something with a superstar of her incredible ability and potential.
