From the WWE rumour mill: Rich Swann released from jail
What's the story?
We recently brought you an update which stated that WWE superstar, Rich Swann, had been arrested with regard to a kidnapping/false imprisonment/battery case against his wife. Senior sports entertainment reporter Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that he has been released from jail.
Of course, this is a developing story, so we'll bring you more news as and when it becomes available to us. WWE even suspended Swann, shortly after his arrest.
In case you didn't know...
Things were on the upswing for Rich Swann at long last. He was set to face Drew Gulak to determine the Number 1 contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, now held by Enzo Amore.
Unfortunately, news emerged with regard to a case between Swann and his wife, independent wrestler Su Yung, wherein, after an argument between the two, Yung jumped out of the car the couple was travelling in, and Swann dragged her back, in a headlock.
The heart of the matter
The report suggests that Swann may no longer be in jail, considering he isn't being listed as being held in Alachua County Jail in Gainesville. It goes on to suggest that his case has certainly been assigned to a judge.
This is a case that has been making news, even outside the sports entertainment fraternity. New York Times and other mainstream publications have run stories about the case at hand.
What's next?
We do not know what's next for Rich Swann, honestly. He has been suspended by WWE, and considering how strict WWE is about domestic violence, we're not sure his career will pan out like it seemed it once would. Let's hope the truth comes to light
Author's take
I can only speculate for now, but this whole case isn't good news for Rich Swann's promising career. Everyone's innocent until proven guilty and so I will withhold my judgement until that moment.
