From the WWE Rumour Mill: Shane McMahon to turn heel at Wrestlemania?
What's the story?
Sports Illustrated had reported that the WWE might be planning a huge heel turn to take place at Wrestlemania during the tag team match featuring Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
As per Cage side seats, it will be Shane O' Mac who might be turning heel at Wrestlemania.
In case you didn't know...
Daniel Bryan has just recently been cleared to wrestle and will be having his first match at Wrestlemania in over 2 years. He will be teaming with the SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon who has had a long-standing beef with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
Initially, Bryan would always side with Kevin and Sami and protect them from the wrath of McMahon; but after the two brutally beat down the commissioner on an episode of Smackdown, Bryan had to fire the duo.
Although, he announced next week that they will be given a chance to come back to Smackdown in case they were able to defeat him and Shane at Wrestlemania, giving them yet another shot at redemption.
The heart of the matter
Although not set in stone, it does seem like WWE will be going ahead with the idea of turning McMahon against Bryan at Wrestlemania. It would make sense for Shane to turn as the two have butted heads quite a few times in the past few weeks over their opinions on Sami and Kevin.
Shane could blame Bryan for being negligent and indulging the duo inspite of their violent actions, time and time again.
This rift would also help Owens and Zayn pick up the win and get re-instated to Smackdown.
What's next?
Wrestlemania takes place on the 8th of April from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States.
Author's take
The manner in which Bryan and McMahon patched up their disputes on last week's Smackdown felt very abrupt and random, so it will be interesting to see how the story will move forward with Shane turning his back on the fan-favorite Daniel Bryan.
