From the WWE Rumour Mill: SmackDown Superstar sent home early from tour
What's the story?
The WWE is currently on a tour of South America following its recent tour of Europe, and now, just like in the European tour, it appears that yet another SmackDown Superstar has been sent home early from house show duties following the departure of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn on that tour.
In case you didn't know...
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan were off television for a while, but have returned after a series of videos hyping their repackaging as the Bludgeon Brothers.
The new tag-team got off to a great start with two decisive victories over the Hype Bros, causing the latter tag-team to split up with Mojo Rawley turning on Zack Ryder. The Bludgeon Brothers appear to be a success so far but only time will tell.
The heart of the matter
However the Bludgeon Brothers have split apart so soon after their inception as PWInsider news from the recent house show in Lima, Peru states that Mojo Rawley of all people teamed up with Erick Rowan as Luke Harper had been sent home.
Mojo Rawley teamed with Erick Rowan in Mexico last night. The word in the locker room was that Luke Harper flew back to the US after the Thursday event in Lima, Peru. We aren't sure why at this point.
PWInsider have provided an update since their original report on Harper's tour absence was released stating that he is still being advertised for the next set of TV tapings for SmackDown, so is unlikely to be injured.
What's next?
It's unlikely that anyone needs to be concerned about this, Superstars get time off and sent home all the time with Randy Orton and Nia Jax being two recent notable absentees from WWE house shows who have returned as good as ever on television.
Author's take
We'll have more on this when it comes in, but it's likely that Harper had something he needed to attend to at home and this isn't a big deal. Either that or he has 'backstage heat' and will probably end up winning the WWE Title in a couple of weeks.
