From the WWE rumour mill: NXT star slated to return from injury soon?
What's the story?
One of WWE's newest signings may enter the ring for the first time for the company. Stephanie Newell, better known as Nixon Newell suffered a torn ACL just after being signed by WWE in June 2017.
When one of her fans asked Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer whether he had any update on her return, he said that she could enter the ring again soon.
In case you didn't know...
Nixon Newell signed a contract with WWE, before the Mae Young Classic Tournament, where she was expected to participate. Unfortunately for her, she suffered a torn ACL and was not able to take part in the Mae Young Classic Tournament, resulting in WWE replacing her.
Nixon Newell had an illustrious career before she signed with WWE, with the likes of DDT Pro Wrestling, Southside Wrestling, and Whatculture Pro Wrestling. She was also part of Progress, and Shimmer Po Wrestling before she finally signed with WWE.
The heart of the matter
Nixon Newell was one of the major signings by WWE before the Mae Young Classic, and her injury was a big blow they had not seen coming.
The injury came after she had reported to the WWE Performance Center, and has kept her out for around 9 months.
When a fan asked Dave Meltzer on Twitter when she would be returning to action, Meltzer replied that her return 'should be fairly soon.'
What's next?
Nixon Newell is sure to add depth to the NXT Women's Roster and may be one of the top contenders in WWE in the coming months.
