WWE News: Global Cruiserweight Series qualifiers to take place in EVOLVE
This summer, WWE will be organizing it’s first ever Global Cruiserweight Series to determine the best cruiserweight in the world. 32 of the best cruiserweights will be a part of this WWE Network’s exclusive event. It will start airing from July 13 and the finals of the tournaments will be around September, this year.
Several aspiring competitors are dreaming to be a part of this tournament, participating in something which will be define their careers. WWE looks to give a chance to some of the wrestlers who doesn’t have major exposure. The wrestlers will compete in qualifying matches to join the tournament with some of the best cruiswerweights like Rich Swann, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Noam Dar, Akira Tozawa, Ho Ho Lun and Lince Dorado.
WWE.com reports that some qualifying matches of the Global Cruiserweight series will take place at EVOLVE 61 on Saturday, May 7 at La Boom in Queens, New York. Two of EVOLVE’s most prominent cruiserweights, the reigning EVOLVE Wrestling Tag Team Champions Drew Gulak and Tracy Williams, will compete against each other in the first qualifier match for the tournament. In the second match, a new, yet awesome mat technician Fred Yehi will collide against a 15 year ring veteran TJ Parkins. Details about tickets will be available at EVOLVEWrestling.com
