Gunther to anger WWE legend leading to title match at WrestleMania 41? It's not Goldberg

Gunther has become quite the polarizing figure in WWE recently. In addition to being a dominant World Heavyweight Champion, he has been quite a menace on the mic. Not only has he been hyping up his reign, but he has also been dissing WWE legends in the process. What's more, it doesn't look like he will stop anytime soon, and this could lead to him facing a disgruntled legend at WrestleMania 41.

Initially, most people would think that the legend mentioned is Goldberg. The Hall of Famer certainly has unfinished business with Gunther, who humiliated him at WWE Bad Blood. That being said, there is a possibility that The Ring General might face off against a different legend who is scheduled to hang up his gear very soon. Yes, it is possible that we could witness the World Heavyweight Champion defending his title against John Cena.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has strongly discussed the possibility of having John Cena challenge for one of the world titles at WrestleMania 41. Should this prove to be true, we could very well see the Leader of the Cenation take on Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. And given The Ring General's recent disrespectful attitude towards legends, it wouldn't be all that surprising.

All it would take is one diss from the 37-year-old for the match to happen at the Show of Shows. Cena would certainly be game, as he wouldn't be able to ask for a better opponent in his last WrestleMania. That being said, as things stand this is nothing more than speculation.

Gunther already has a huge title match ahead of him at WWE Crown Jewel

A title defense at WrestleMania 41, especially against an opponent like John Cena will certainly be up there on Gunther's to-do list. However, right now he must pay attention to the short-term, and focus on his upcoming match at WWE Crown Jewel. After all, much like any potential Mania match, it too is for a massive title.

Fortunately, both for the Ring General and his opponent, Cody Rhodes, neither of their world titles are on the line. They will both be battling it out inside the squared circle for the honor of being called the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Championship. A prestigious accomplishment, that either one of them would love to add to their resume.

It will be interesting to see who takes home the title with 50-carat worth of diamonds on it. As many claim, this certainly has "Match of the Year" potential. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype.
