Gunther to lose his World Heavyweight Championship due to a massive return after 622 days? Possibility explored

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther could drop his title to Finn Balor at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event if the latter brings back 'The Demon' character after 622 days. The match was made official after the 43-year-old attacked the reigning champion on the most recent episode of RAW.

The Demon made his last appearance at WrestleMania 39, against Edge in a Hell in a Cell Match. This character is famous for its dark and intense vibe, representing a more powerful side of Bálor that he brings out for his biggest bouts. Using this persona, the 43-year-old has beaten big names like Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens, and Seth Rollins, among others. Bringing back the Demon King could be a strategic move to dethrone Gunther, whose reign as champion has been nothing short of dominant.

Gunther has established himself since joining the main roster, showing that he's nearly impossible to beat. Not many wrestlers have managed to pin The Ring General, and his combination of technical skill, strength, and toughness makes him one of the most dominant champions in WWE history. Anyone aiming to take him down will need to elevate their game seriously.

Conversely, Balor hasn’t been having the best luck lately. Even though he’s got the talent and a history of success, he’s been having a tough time getting those crucial wins. Recent reports suggest that WWE is planning a major push for him in 2025, potentially setting him up for a world title reign. This rumored push could start on December 14 with the Demon King making a comeback to stir things up.

Although nothing is set in stone, Saturday Night’s Main Event might kick off a fresh chapter for The Prince. We’ll have to wait and see if it happens. Right now, it’s all just speculation.

The Demon persona could spell trouble for Gunther

WWE has carefully protected Finn Bálor’s iconic Demon King persona, keeping it undefeated until 2021. The aura and strength of the Demon made it a unique and formidable part of Balor’s game plan.

Unfortunately, the Demon faced its first defeat against Roman Reigns in an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match. Then, at WrestleMania 39, the formidable gimmick took another hit when he went up against Edge in a tough Hell in a Cell Match and lost.

Despite having just two losses, the persona still holds a lot of weight and could pose a real threat to Gunther. If The Judgment Day member brings the character back to life at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the current World Heavyweight Champion might be in for his biggest challenge so far.
