Hits and Misses from this week's WWE SmackDown Live (30th July 2019)

It was an awesome show
It was an awesome show

It was an explosive episode from Monday Night RAW this week and the onus was on the Blue Brand to follow suit as well.

SmackDown Live delivered a great show as it had some exciting matches. Moreover, two SummerSlam matches were confirmed this week as well.

The US Champion AJ Styles faced the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston in the main event of the night. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross teamed up to take on the team of Bayley and Ember Moon.

Following the match at SmackVille, Ali and Nakamura had a rematch this week. While Shane McMahon was absent, Drew McIntyre fought Kevin Owens. Finn Balor had a match with Dolph Ziggler and the WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus was confronted by Charlotte Flair.

Roman Reigns was ambushed by a mystery attacker when he was set to announce his opponent for SummerSlam.

Let's discuss the hits and misses from the Blue Brand this week.

Miss: Ember Moon getting pinned

A Women's Tag Team Match took place on SmackDown Live where the team of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross faced Bayley and Ember Moon.

Considering The Hugger is set to take on The War Goddess at SummerSlam, there were question marks raised about how they would work as a team. After what happened last week, there was a fair reason for the WWE Universe to doubt this alliance.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross won the Tag Team Match, but Moon was pinned by The Goddess. Considering SummerSlam is around the corner, it was surprising that the RAW Superstars got the victory and Moon was pinned.

The former NXT Women's Champion made a massive statement last week when she pinned the nine-time women's champion, Charlotte Flair. Before her SummerSlam Match, the victory was certainly a confidence booster for Moon, but the momentum got derailed this week.

While Moon delivered a vicious Eclipse to Bayley last week, the latter returned the favour this week with a Bayley to Belly.

Things got heated between the champion and the challenger this week, but it would have been better if Moon was not the one taking the pin.
