How Shield face turn will affect other WWE Story lines
Ever since the inception of the stable, The Shield has been one of the most dominating forces that the WWE saw in recent history. All the three members soon rose to main event status thanks to their excellent booking and coupling in ring talent.
What made the Shield click first was their heel credentials which they used to get rid of anyone that got in their way. Later it turned out to be the prospect of the trio breaking out and the superstars getting individual pushes.
The WWE teased that at every stage possible and just when everyone thought there is nothing that could stop the impending split; WWE pulled out a rabbit of their own and turned the Shield into a face table, a feat that no one would’ve dreamed of a few months back.
It’s something that has caused a ripple factor in the whole roster and almost all the major storyline have been affected by the surprise face turn of the Shield.
Arguably the most benefitted superstars from this face turn will be Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt. The problem of having Shield as a heel trio was that Wyatt Family was also heel. The company was in no need of two heel stables and one had to move away.
And now that Shield is no more, this leaves as with the Wyatt Family as the only top heel stable in the company unless you count 3MB. Wyatts could just rule the WWE for a longer run since there is no one else to share the spotlight with.
Wyatt Family’s recent success with John Cena could further excel now that the Shield is a face trio.
Another place where it could end up influencing is the big Authority angle itself. Triple H no longer has The Shield under his control and has his Director of Operations having great frictions with the trio. Since Kane is an integral part of the Authority, it would be safe to say that the Shield will sooner or later cross path with the Game.
Which means one thing: Daniel Bryan will be having the Shield protecting his back if Triple H decides to screw.
I mean imagining the scene of the Shield making sure that the match between Triple H and Daniel Bryan is fair by aligning with Bryan itself is something which could give Goosebumps. This could also open the doors for the WWE to pave path for pitting Shield against Triple H in the near future as well.
Apart from all this, what will make a bigger impact with the face turn will be the eventual split. Now that all three wrestlers are babyface, their turn on their partners will be a loads affective than what they would’ve done while having the heel run.
The fans never forget when a baby face turns on his teammates and this would be the way that WWE could give the superstars their individual pushes. Dean Ambrose is the one who is likely to jump from the group as the heel as his maniac gimmick is a great success story.
Roman Reigns meanwhile could go either way and will flourish in whichever way that company chooses him in. Reigns is eventually going to be a great face in the future so it might be worth the wait. Seth Rollins however, has all the parameters to break out as the biggest star from the group. He is a rare entertainer who could touch the skies with his face run and he should stick with it no matter what.
It’s one of the well worked turns that WWE ever did and hopefully they will bring it home the angle with a bang and end up with three main eventers who will impact the whole storyline paradigm of the company.
