Huge alteration to title match, Gunther to be featured? 4 last-minute changes Triple H can make to WWE Bad Blood this week
WWE has major Premium Live Events that air just about every month. Some months feature multiple PLEs, with November hosting both Crown Jewel and Survivor Series, for example.
The next big show from the Sports Entertainment juggernaut will be Bad Blood. This will mark the return of the marquee show, which started as an In Your House PLE back in 1997. The latest edition will air live from Atlanta this Saturday.
Some big matches have been booked for Bad Blood. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will square off inside the Hell in a Cell, while The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa will battle the unlikely duo of Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. Both women's world titles will be on the line, too. Reigning Women's Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will be the special guest hosts for the event.
With five matches and guest hosts already announced, the card could be pretty much locked in. With that being said, there are some changes Triple H might make to the upcoming Premium Live Event at some point this week. This could include a rare sixth match, a major change to a title match, and more.
Below are four last-minute changes The Game can make to WWE Bad Blood this week:
#4. Triple H could turn Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan into a No Disqualification Match
Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley will be going one-on-one for the Women's World Championship at WWE Bad Blood. Notably, Liv's boyfriend and Rhea's ex, Dominik Mysterio, will be locked inside a shark cage, which will be suspended above the ring during the match.
While that makes for a fun stipulation, an argument could be made that the feud should have more than that. Dominik shouldn't be the focal point of such a bitter feud. Hence, the Triple H-led creative team should add a little spice to make the Rhea Ripley-Liv Morgan feud the major focal point during the match.
The best way to do that would be for The Game to add a No Disqualification stipulation. This would allow Rhea and Liv to do just about anything to each other, all without the concern of Dominik interfering. Could Rhea put The Miracle Kid through a table? Will Morgan use a kendo stick on The Eradicator?
#3. CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre could be made the main event
The two biggest matches on the WWE Bad Blood card both happen to be non-title bouts. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will lock horns in a Hell in a Cell Match after months of both verbal and physical altercations.
On the SmackDown side of things, The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu will team up to take on Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. The OTC is the biggest star in WWE, and Atlanta is The American Nightmare's home, so many believe this bout will be the headlining act at Bad Blood.
Media reports recently claimed that the tag team match would headline the October 5 PLE, and many fans questioned the decision. If the rumors are accurate, Triple H could course correct and put the brutal Hell in a Cell Match as the final bout of the night, thus keeping the integrity of the structure and the rivalry in place.
#2. Naomi could be added to Bayley vs. Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship
While the Women's World Championship will be defended in the Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan encounter, the WWE Women's Title will also be on the line at Bad Blood. Nia Jax will defend her gold against Bayley.
The Role Model earned the title shot this past Friday as she defeated Naomi in a singles match. However, that might not be the end of the line for The Glow. Knowing that many fans hoped to see Naomi at the big Premium Live Event, Triple H may add her to the title match and turn it into a Triple Threat encounter.
This could make the outcome even more intriguing.
#1. Sami Zayn vs. Gunther could be added to the card
As noted, WWE has currently booked five matches for the Bad Blood PLE. This includes the above-mentioned matches and the one-on-one encounter between Finn Balor and Damian Priest.
In the past, five matches wouldn't have been enough for a major WWE show, but that has changed during the Triple H era. The Game prefers quality over quantity. It has proved to be a winning formula, but it does lead to some issues.
For example, Gunther vs. Sami Zayn, a match many fans are hoping to see, isn't currently booked for Bad Blood. That could change, however. The King of Kings could book The Ring General's title defense against Sami Zayn on tonight's RAW and make it a sixth match for the Atlanta PLE. While this breaks the standard formula, it may be too good to pass up.
