Huge mistake with current champion, massive hint at future surprise involving Roman Reigns? - 4 biggest talking points from WWE RAW this week

Triple H delivered a solid show on WWE RAW this week, which saw several interesting developments unfold. A massive match was confirmed for Bash in Berlin, and CM Punk returned to get revenge on Drew McIntyre. Additionally, the episode hinted at a major surprise involving Roman Reigns and The Bloodline in the future.

Here, we look at the four biggest talking points from WWE RAW this week. So, without further ado, let's begin.

#1 Liv Morgan and the new Judgment Day showed weakness on WWE RAW

This week's episode of RAW kicked off with Rhea Ripley addressing fans in the opening segment, revealing she has had time to think through everything that transpired at SummerSlam. However, Mami was interrupted by Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio, who soon fell victim to a surprise attack from Damian Priest.

The Archer of Infamy later took on Carlito in a singles match and picked up a win, only to be ambushed by Judgment Day. Rhea Ripley rushed to Priest's defense, and the Terror Twins immediately cleared the ring, perplexing the new Judgment Day. It was shocking to see the entire heel faction retreat, especially Women's World Champion Liv Morgan, who has been avoiding physical altercations with her rival.

Both Morgan and Balor are seemingly waiting for the right time to strike. However, if continued on WWE RAW, their sneak attacks and quick escapes could end up portraying them as weak in the entire storyline. It will be interesting to see how the new Judgment Day responds after being stumped two weeks in a row.

Randy Orton returned on WWE RAW and crossed paths with Gunther, whom he will challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin. Their war of words was interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who distracted the champion momentarily, giving The Viper a perfect opportunity to strike with a devastating RKO.

The champion was spotted furious at McIntyre, seemingly blaming him for everything that happened inside the ring during a backstage segment that also featured CM Punk. The Scottish Warrior also complained about Orton getting a title shot instead of him. Although Drew McIntyre and CM Punk are expected to continue their feud, the two superstars will likely play a major role in the world championship picture after Bash in Berlin, especially in Seth Rollins' absence.

#3 The New Day is edging closer to a split on WWE RAW

Karrion Kross and The Final Testament have been working relentlessly to drive a wedge between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The New Day has been a tight-knit faction since its debut 10 years ago. Kingston and Woods have worked together in Big E's absence, but it appears that the legendary faction is headed towards a split.

Last week, Odyssey Jones helped The New Day, and this week, Kingston and Woods returned the favor on WWE RAW. Kross appeared after Jones' victory, which led to a six-man tag match being booked between the faction and the team of The New Day and Jones. Woods didn't look particularly happy with Odyssey Jones tagging along and is seemingly annoyed with the latter growing close to Kingston. We may see The New Day undergo a shocking implosion if Woods betrays Kingston in the coming weeks.

#4 Jey Uso to compete for the Tag Team Titles?

Last week on WWE RAW, Jey Uso was spotted encouraging Sami Zayn for his Intercontinental Championship rematch against Bron Breakker. Zayn failed to recapture the title, but Jey had also mentioned another interesting opportunity for them during their backstage conversation. Jey stated he would join forces with Sami Zayn to take on Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the World Tag Team Championships.

The two babyfaces have had several issues with The Judgment Day. Additionally, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley can help facilitate a title change to exact revenge. This would unite Zayn and Jey as top champions in time to potentially arrive on WWE SmackDown, where Roman Reigns stands alone against the Solo Sikoa-run Bloodline. All signs hint at a massive civil war on the blue brand. Zayn and Jey could be headed towards a potential reunion with the Original Tribal Chief following a title feud with The Judgment Day on RAW.
