"I don’t know if I’d take him one-on-one" - Top WWE star on a potential match with Gunther
There is no denying that Gunther is one of the most intimidating stars on the WWE roster today.
Since being thrust onto the main roster in April 2022, the Austrian has looked to dominate. Doubts about his ability were quickly squashed when he won the Intercontinental Championship just two months into his stint.
A performer who admitted to having doubts about matching up to him in a singles match is none other than Dominik Mysterio. During a recent interview with G-Moniy, Mysterio said that whilst he would like to take the belt off of the Ring General, he would not want the match to be between just the two of them.
“Even Gunther, man I don’t know if I’d take him one-on-one. But if we can get a triple threat match going, somewhere I can sneak in a victory maybe I don’t know. Who knows what the future has in store for Ex-con Dom." [From 8:42 to 8:55]

During his WWE career, Dominik Mysterio has proven that he is no one trick pony and has the ability to surprise audiences. However, he has yet to win a major singles title. His only championship win to this date has been the SmackDown Tag Team title, which he won with his father Rey back in 2021.
Gunther is set to defend his title once more
Currently, Gunther's time spent as the Intercontinental Champion stands at 342 days, making him the longest reigning holder of the belt in the 21st century.
The 35-year-old's next challenger was confirmed on Monday Night RAW, as Mustafa Ali won a Battle Royal to earn a shot at the belt at Night of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 27th.
As Intercontinental Champion, the Austrian has defeated an impressive list of WWE Superstars, such as Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman, Rey Mysterio, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
