Impact Wrestling News: The Nashville office is officially closed
What's the story?
The fitting phrase for this story is "the end of an era." According to Cageside Seats, the Impact Wrestling offices have closed their doors in Nashville, Tennessee as of Thursday, November 30th. This may be bad news for the company, but there aren't a lot of details available at the moment.
In case you didn't know...
Anthem Sports purchased a majority share of 85% of Impact Wrestling from Dixie Carter, essentially removing her from power; though she still is around as a consultant for the company from time-to-time. Though Carter resigned as Chairwoman, she still holds a 5% stake in the company.
The heart of the matter
The Impact Wrestling offices were in Nashville since the beginning of the company in 2002 when Jeff and Jerry Jarrett founded Total Nonstop Action or TNA. The main source of revenue at the time would be the weekly pay per view shows that would occur every Wednesday night for $9.99.
The permanent home for the offices of Impact Wrestling will reside in Toronto, Ontario, Canada going forward. This is also the home of the ownership Anthem Sports.
The move also signifies a potential reset period for Impact Wrestling as several major talents have left the company recently such as Taryn Terrell, James Storm, and Bram. Recent rumours suggest that Ethan Carter III and Bobby Lashley are on their way out of Impact Wrestling as well.
What's next?
On the next edition of Impact Wrestling, the Knockouts Championship tournament continues, plus James Storm will team up with Moose to take on Bobby Lashley and Dan Lambert.
There is not a scheduled pay per view for the company yet in 2018, but it is presumed that Lockdown is going to be next up.
Author's take
This almost seems like the final piece of the old days is gone, and it truly is a reset period for the company. With so many major departures and more on the way, they are going to have to be creative with who they have and not be afraid to try to make new stars.
