Impact Wrestling News: Alberto El Patrón explains WrestleMania Weekend absence
What's the story?
Alberto El Patrón has finally broken his silence regarding his termination from Impact Wrestling during WrestleMania Weekend.
The former Impact Wrestling World Champion said that he had a family situation to deal with.
In case you didn't know...
El Patrón was expected to team with Pentagon Jr., against the team of Austin Aries and Fenix, but the match was changed to a triple threat once El Patrón couldn't be found in time for the main event.
The most confusing part of the absence was the fact that El Patrón appeared at WrestleCon earlier in the day, and his absence lead many to believe, he no-showed the event to attempt to negotiate a new deal with WWE, but that was not the case.
The heart of the matter
In an interview with Sporting News, El Patrón didn't give any specifics on the family situation that arose but, stressed that his family takes precedence over his professional wrestling career and that he wouldn't share details on the issue.
I know people want to know absolutely everything. This only concerns my family: my parents, my sister, myself and my kids. And that's the way it's going to stay.
El Patrón said he was fine with leaving the company, because of some of his issues with Impact. But, the biggest part of his interview, was reminding everyone that he intends to retire from professional wrestling within a year.
I'm just going to continue to do that and doing my stuff here, in Mexico like exactly how I was doing it and sometime next year and say goodbye to the pro wrestling business.
What's next?
With El Patrón no longer wrestling for Impact, he will have the opportunity to sign with any promotion available.
Where he decides to compete before retiring from wrestling, will be the most interesting news to look out for.
