As noted on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Alberto El Patron’s contract with Impact Wrestling expires this Spring.
That, in turn, has got the professional wrestling community abuzz regarding El Patron potentially parting ways with Impact Wrestling after his current deal runs out.
In case you didn’t know…
Alberto El Patron has performed for several notable professional wrestling promotions the world over, including WWE, Lucha Underground, AAA, Ring Of Honor, and Impact Wrestling to name a few.
El Patron spent the better part of 2017 competing for and working backstage in Impact Wrestling.
The heart of the matter
Alberto El Patron stated in multiple interviews throughout 2017 that he plans on working with Impact Wrestling through 2019; following which he plans on retiring from the sport of professional wrestling.
While Impact Wrestling’s new owners, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, brought about considerable changes in the promotion in 2017, several big names departed from the company through the year, a trend that has continued in 2018 thus far.
In light of the same, it was noted on The Observer that El Patron’s current contract with Impact Wrestling will expire in Spring of this year. Because of this, his future with the company remains unclear. It is unknown as of this time, whether or not he intends to renew his deal with the organization after it runs out.
