Impact Wrestling News: Lashley speaks about a potential match with Brock Lesnar
What's the story?
Impact Wrestling Superstar Bobby Lashley recently took part in an interview with RealSport, wherein he talked about a possible match against WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. We bring you his thoughts via Wrestling Inc.
In case you didn't know...
Before he became an Impact Wrestling Superstar, Lashley worked for WWE from 2005 to 2008. Many dubbed Lashley WWE's next Brock Lesnar, as the Beast had left the company after WrestleMania 20 to pursue career opportunities elsewhere.
Co-incidentally, Lashley also pursues a part-time career in MMA, working in promotions such as Titan Fighting Championship, Strikeforce, and Shark Fights to name a few. He currently holds a record of fifteen wins and two losses.
The heart of the matter
On being asked about a possible match with Brock Lesnar in the ring or the octagon, Lashley said that:
"Whichever one pays more. I really don't care. At the end of the day, we've gotta feed our kids, and right now I think either one will do it."
Lashley added further to his answer by throwing out the example of UFC Fighter Conor McGregor crossing over to the world of boxing by taking on the sport's biggest superstar, Floyd "Money" Mayweather.
It's one of those things where UFC, with the Floyd Mayweather thing, I know it's not gonna be as big as that, but Mayweather and Conor McGregor came up there and they actually crossed.
What's next?
Lashley's currently in Ottawa, Canada, working media to promote Impact Wrestling's biggest PPV of the year, Bound for Glory. Lashley and King Mo will be taking on the team of Moose & Stephan Bonner in a Six-Sides of Steel Match.
Author's take
Considering both these superstars have pursued MMA careers, it would be interesting to see the 'Walking Armageddon' take on 'The Beast Incarnate' in the Octagon. But, then again, like Lashley said, "whichever one pays more."
