Impact Wrestling News: Eddie Edwards injured during Impact Tapings
What's the story?
Impact Wrestling star, Eddie Edwards suffered a horrible injury to his head during the promotion's tapings in Orlando, Florida. PWInsider reported that he had to be taken to the hospital immediately following the injury when he walked to the back.
PWInsider later updated, that after an examination in the ER, Eddie was expected to be 'OK'.
In case you didn't know...
Eddie Edwards is a former Impact Wrestling and ROH champion. He had a brief stint in WWE, where he wrestled one match in NXT with his then tag team partner, Davey Richards. Edwards was involved in a match with Sami Callihan, who is the current creative head of Combat Zone Wrestling, and known for his brutal wrestling style.
The news of the injury comes almost immediately it was revealed Paige might never wrestle again due to the injuries she had suffered.
The heart of the matter
During the taping in Orlando, Edwards defeated Sami Callihan in their singles match.
After Edwards had won, he was attacked by Callihan. Callihan placed a chair on him and hit it with a baseball bat, which ricocheted off the chair and struck Eddie on the top of his head.
Edwards immediately retreated grabbing his head and walked to the back. According to reports by PWInsider, there was a 'ton of blood' and he had to be taken to the hospital immediately.
PWInsider has since reported, after an examination in the ER, Eddie was declared to be 'OK'.
What's next?
Edwards will hopefully be able to recover from his injury and be able to take his place on the roster extremely soon.
