Impact Wrestling News: Former Impact Grand Champion makes his return following injury
What's the story?
After suffering an unpleasant leg injury at the latest Impact tapings, former Impact Grand Champion Moose has seemingly recovered from his minor damage, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer.
In case you didn't know...
During a latest Impact TV taping in Orlando, Florida, two-time Grand Champion Moose competed in a fatal four-way match against Ethan Carter III, Alberto El Patron, and Johnny Impact. The former New England Patriots player reportedly suffered the injury during the match and was helped to the backstage area by several Impact Wrestling staff.
The heart of the matter
According to Dave Meltzer, Moose's injury wasn't as serious as everyone thought it would be at the first instance and, apparently, the former New England Patriots player tore a lateral collateral ligament following his injury, which he suffered on the first night of Impact tapings.
Following a medical check-up it was noted that Moose's knee was felt to be very stiff, however, the 33-year-old was supposedly okay and did not hesitate in getting back into the wrestling ring once again.
The former Ring of Honor star made his return to the Impact Zone earlier this week, on the 13th of January, after having missed only on two days of action.
What's next?
It's almost amazing how quickly Moose recovered from his knee injury. The 2-time Impact Grand Champion will now look to get back into the World Championship mix once again and possibly continue his pursuit of the Impact World Championship which is currently held by Austin Aries.
Impact fans can certainly expect Moose to get another crack at the Impact World Title, after having failed to win the #1 contenders match for the Impact World Title against Ethan Carter III, Johnny Impact, and Alberto El Patron.
Author's take
Moose's return to the Impact Zone will definitely be a huge boost for Impact Wrestling and we can certainly expect him to be back in title contention in the Impact Zone once again.
