Impact Wrestling News: Former Impact Grand Champion suffers devastating injury during latest tapings
What's the story?
During the latest Impact tapings in Orlando, former Impact Grand Champion Moose reportedly suffered a leg injury and apparently had to be carried to the backstage area.
In case you didn't know...
Moose, 33, is a former American football player who first started his wrestling career under Ring of Honor in 2014. The former New England Patriots player was signed by Impact Wrestling in 2016 and ever since making his debut, Moose has had a successful run within the Impact Zone where he is a two-time Impact Grand Champion.
Some of Moose's most memorable matches in Impact Wrestling were against the likes of Naomichi Marufuji, Cody Rhodes, and Eli Drake.
The heart of the matter
During Wednesday's Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, Florida, former Impact Grand Champ Moose reportedly suffered a knee injury during his fatal four-way match against Ethan Carter III, Johnny Impact, and Alberto El Patron.
The four men were competing against each other in the #1 contenders match for a shot at the Impact Heavyweight Championship and Moose apparently injured his leg during the contest; the former ROH star then had to be helped to the back by a lot of people.
However, PWInsider has reported that Moose hasn't torn any sort of muscle in his leg or knee.
What's next?
As of this writing, there hasn't been any sort of further update regarding Moose's condition and Impact Wrestling are also yet to officially release any sort of statement regarding their former Grand Champion's knee injury.
If Moose's injury turns out to be serious, then he will definitely be a huge omission from the Impact roster and will be a big miss for Impact management.
However, we can certainly expect Moose to get another crack at the Impact World Championship upon his return.
Author's take
There is definitely no doubt on how talented Moose is inside the squared circle. As mentioned above, I do believe that his absence from the Impact Zone is going to be a huge loss for the company.
