What's the story?
Impact Wrestling has announced its new Twitch channel ‘Twitch.tv/impactwrestling’ which will feature a 24-hour all-week-long live stream and exclusive weekly programming.

In case you didn’t know…
As we’d previously reported, Impact Wrestling has been advertising its Barbed Wire Massacre III matchup as ‘too violent for TV’, with said matchup resultantly set to air on Twitch—a world-renowned digital video streaming service.
While Impact Wrestling has seen several big names depart from the promotion since 2014, following Dixie Carter’s sale of the promotion to Anthem Sports & Entertainment in January of 2017, the organization has been in a transition phase ever since.
The heart of the matter
Anthem executive and Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm addressed Impact Wrestling’s new channel on Twitch; stating—
“Our expansion on Twitch marks another important milestone in our digital expansion…The interactive content and larger-than-life personalities of IMPACT Wrestling are a perfect fit for the platform, whose passionate communities have demonstrated an increased appetite for professional wrestling and live events. As we adapt to new content consumption methods, our partnership with Twitch gives us an opportunity to interact directly with our audience, while engaging and growing our fan base across the world.”
Furthermore, it’s now being revealed that the Impact wrestling channel on Twitch will feature Impact Wrestling live events, house shows as well as lifestyle programming showcasing the lives and routines of Impact’s top stars, including workouts, behind-the-scenes action and much more.
Additionally, a few other exclusive shows were also announced for Impact Wrestling’s channel on Twitch, namely—Live Audio Wrestling aka The LAW hosted by Jeremy Borash to air on Monday nights; Nuff Said hosted by Tyrus (Wednesday nights); and Matthews’ Megacast (Thursday nights). Besides, Impact’s new Twitch channel will also feature past and present episodes of Impact, original weekly Xplosion, PPV events on a second window, and thousands of hours of classic content including the sport’s biggest names such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Sting, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode to name a few.
What’s next?
Impact Wrestling’s new channel will be launched on Twitch on January 17th, featuring 24/7 content streaming and exclusive weekly programming.
The following day, January 18th, the channel will air the Barbed Wire Massacre III match at 10 pm ET immediately following the weekly episode of Impact! On Pop.
Author’s take
Honestly speaking, as an old-school TNA fan, this is great news for Impact Wrestling fans as well as the company’s performers.
With veterans such as Scott D’Amore and Don Callis helping out Ed Nordholm with Impact Wrestling administration, 2018 seems to have great things in store for the promotion. Besides, with the Twitch channel featuring lifestyle programming showing our favourite Impact stars, the organization could perhaps regain its past glory.
