Impact Wrestling News: Top Impact Wrestling Star announces his departure from the company
What's the story?
Over the years, there have been many changes in the Impact Wrestling roster. One constant from the very start has been Cowboy James Storm. After fifteen years in the company, James Storm has finally announced his departure from the Impact Wrestling Roster.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that it's a legitimate departure, and not a work, as some have speculated.
In case you didn't know...
James Storm is one of the mainstays of Impact Wrestling, famously known as a member of America's Most Wanted and then later as a member of Beer Money, Inc.
Not only has Storm captured the NWA Tag Team Championships on seven different occasions and then the TNA Tag Team Championships seven different times too, the "Cowboy" is also a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion. He has been part of the company from the very first day.
The heart of the matter
"The Cowboy" took to Twitter and announced his departure, in a philosophical manner:
James Storm departed after losing a 'Loser Leaves Impact' during the recent round of Impact Tapings. He joins a whole lot of names who have been leaving from the current roster.
While the others have been a part of Anthem Wrestling's cost-cutting measures, we are uncertain what the reason for Storm's departure is.
It is interesting to note that in his farewell speech Storm thanked Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett and Bob Ryder, but not Anthem Wrestling. The crowd thanked him with 'Thank You Storm' chants, as the Cowboy rode off into the sunset.
What's next?
As James Storm indicated through his Tweet, he is not done with professional wrestling, we believe. When one door closes, another one opens. He's not just a professional wrestler, he is a professional wrestling legend.
Author's take
I've interviewed James Storm on two different occasions, and there isn't a nicer man in the wrestling world. I wish him all the best for the future, and really do want to see him in WWE someday.
After all, who wouldn't want to see Beer Money, Inc. on SmackDown Live, right?
