Stop reading this article immediately if you wish to avoid spoilers. As for the rest of you Impact Wrestling fans, there's some big news!

Two titles changed hands on the January 12th edition of the Impact Wrestling Tapings. Matt Sydal is now a double champion, while Allie is your Knockouts Champion, as per reports from Wrestling Inc.

In case you didn't know...

Impact Wrestling is back at Universal Studios in Orlando for another round of tapings, as we write this. They kickstarted the same with a bang, under a new regime led by Scott D'Amore and Don Callis, with the big return of Austin Aries.

The company continued the same momentum, with two more babyfaces picking up the big wins and making waves for the wrestling promotion. One can only imagine what further surprises are in store for us, as the tapings roll on.

The heart of the matter

Laurel Van Ness won a tournament in her native Canada, to become Knockouts Champion, after Gail Kim relinquished the belt following Bound for Glory to retire as Champion. During the tapings in Canada, we saw Allie emerge as the number one contender for Van Ness's coveted title.

Allie realized her destiny for the second time, as she became the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion. Big congratulations to the supremely talented Knockout!

There was also a Champion vs Champion match where Impact Wrestling Grand Champion, Matt Sydal took on X-Division Champion, Taiji Ishimori. Sydal did not choke on the big stage and is now a double Impact Wrestling Champion. Congratulations!

What's next?

We still have a few nights of tapings to go. One can only imagine the surprises we'll have in store for us, during the period. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda Wrestling for more big updates.

Author's take

I'm a big fan of both superstars, and I'm happy for both of them, especially Matt Sydal, who's one of the best wrestlers on the planet today, in my opinion.

I hope the new top management takes Impact Wrestling all the way back to the glory days!
