What’s the story?
On a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Laurel Van Ness intended to leave Impact Wrestling since the first day of tapings.
Nevertheless, Van Ness didn’t let Impact Wrestling management know about her plans until well after they booked her to win the Knockouts Championship. Additionally, a few more details on Van Ness’ upcoming departure from the promotion have also been noted.

The heart of the matter
Veteran professional wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer alluded that Laurel Van Ness has been wanting to leave Impact Wrestling ever since the first set of tapings, but did not take company management, Scott D’Amore in particular, in confidence regarding the same.

Author’s take
Laurel Van Ness is one of the most talented and drop dead gorgeous women in the business today, and given Impact Wrestling’s financial issues in the recent past, yet another elite star seems to be leaving for greener pastures.
That said, it’d be great to see Van Ness bring her in-ring talent and unwavering work ethic to the WWE. ‘The Hot Mess’ shall rule the WWE Women’s Division all the same.
