Impact Wrestling Rumors: Mae Young Classic competitor to sign with GFW
What's the story?
While nothing has been confirmed yet, it is being rumoured that Tessa Blanchard, whom you may remember from the Mae Young Classic will be signing with Impact Wrestling. This rumour comes to us from the 'Rumor Roundup' section of Cageside Seats and PWInsider.
In case you didn't know...
Some may know Tessa Blanchard as the better half of indie sensation Ricochet. However, she is quite an impressive superstar in her own right, on the independent circuit.
She's had quite a nice run in WWE as well, first as Adam Rose's 'rosebud', then at NXT, and then in the inaugural edition of the Mae Young Classic, losing to the eventual tournament winner- Kairi Sane, in what was perhaps the best match of the entire tournament.
She's even wrestled for Impact in the past, in the year 2015. After a great career in the independents, at the age of 22, Blanchard may be looking to make Impact Wrestling her home now.
The heart of the matter
Impact Wrestling travels to Ottawa in Canada for their biggest pay-per-view this year, Bound for Glory. It is being speculated that Blanchard will join the Knockouts Division in the tapings that follow in Canada.
The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer, Tully Blanchard, can be an invaluable addition to the Impact Wrestling roster that is hard pressed for talent right now. She's got youth on her side and is also a familiar face to many.
What's next?
We have to wait for November to see whether or not Blanchard will sign with the Impact Wrestling bandwagon. Stay tuned for further developments in this regard, on our official website.
Author's take
Gail Kim departs from Impact Wrestling very soon, and the company needs all the talent that they can find. Blanchard will be a featured attraction in the company if she joins, and therefore, it may be a great career move.
She might be presented as the Impact Wrestling version of Charlotte Flair, considering she has a Horseman's genes.
