Cody and The Young Bucks are looking to create history with All In

What’s the story?

Bullet Club members Cody Rhodes, Matt and Nick Jackson—collectively known as The Young Bucks—recently spoke with Rolling Stone regarding their upcoming self-financed All In event.

In case you didn’t know…

As per noted in 2017, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks decided to organize a big wrestling event that will seat a total of 10,000 people and is likely to be the biggest Independent wrestling show of all time.

The initial reason why Rhodes and The Young Bucks decided to organize this self-financed event is due to a Twitter exchange between Rhodes and The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, who had previously claimed that Cody’s home promotion Ring of Honor was not capable of selling out a 10,000 seat arena.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with Rolling Stone, Cody and The Bucks spoke about a host of wrestling related topics, including Cody’s departure from the WWE back in 2016 and the amount of success he has been able to achieve for himself on the Independent circuit, Ring of Honor, and even on New Japan Pro Wrestling. Here are a few highlights from the interview:

The Young Bucks on Cody Rhodes’ passion for the wrestling industry:

Matt Jackson first started off by stating that the reason why he loves and respects Cody Rhodes because he is pretty much similar to The Bucks and is someone who eats, lives, and breathes the wrestling business.

Nick Jackson added that Rhodes is indeed the most passionate wrestler he has ever come across in his career.

Cody Rhodes on The Young Bucks’ influence on the wrestling business:

According to “The American Nightmare”, Matt and Nick Jackson are currently two of the most old-school wrestlers in today’s generation of Pro Wrestling, who are doing something different than the rest of the Pro Wrestling world.

Additionally, Cody stated that he was becoming undesirable in this wrestling world, especially after the last few years he spent with the WWE, however, Rhodes added, that the fire within him just lit all of a sudden and he got very lucky with the places he walked into and the people he ran into, particularly Matt and Nick Jackson.

The Young Bucks on what Kevin Owens told them, following Cody’s departure from the WWE:

Both Matt and Nick Jackson claimed that they initially did not know much about Cody Rhodes in the first place, besides the fact when Kevin Owens told them about Rhodes’ departure from the WWE back in 2016.

Nick Jackson stated that Owens initially told him and his brother Matt to take care and help out Cody, as Matt added, that when a guy like Kevin Owens is a guy whom they take very seriously.

“When a guy like Kevin says ‘hey, you’re gonna love Cody’ we take it very seriously.”- Matt Jackson stated.

Furthermore, Matt and Nick added that they instantly hit it off with Cody and became close buddies with him, as soon as they met with each other.

Young Bucks on their upcoming All In event:

Matt Jackson said, the Being the Elite cast—which consists of the likes of Adam Page and Marty Scurll—are obviously going to be a part of the show in some shape or form.

And, according to Nick Jackson, some of the biggest names in wrestling have already contacted them in order to become a part of the show and also, Bullet Club member and NJPW superstar, Kenny Omega (who is also a part of the BTE cast) will surely be a part of the show.

Cody Rhodes on the upcoming All In event:

Rhodes believes that in today’s day and age wrestling is growing differently all around the globe and he totally remains confident of the fact that All In is definitely going to be a huge success.

What’s next?

As per recent confirmation, The All In event will take place at the Sears Center Arena in Chicago and the likes of Kenny Omega, Tessa Blanchard, Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, and The Young Bucks have been confirmed to appear on the show.

Author’s Take

In my opinion, this is a great initiative taken by Rhodes and The Bucks and personally, I wish them all the best for this event and hope that they achieve their goal of selling out 10,000 seats for All In.
