Indie News: Cody Rhodes wants Daniel Bryan to headline the Bullet Club show
What’s the story?
During a recent appearance on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio, Ring of Honor World Champion Cody Rhodes said that he would love to have Daniel Bryan headline the proposed Bullet Club show.
In case you didn’t know…
Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks were planning a big wrestling event in 2018 which would try to accommodate 10,000 fans.
Rhodes then went on to tease the show by posting a picture of him scouting for a venue. The trio is apparently in talks with Ring of Honor as well about co-promoting the show.
The heart of the matter
Cody talked about a string of topics during his appearance on Busted Open Radio. The most notable one, however, was his fantasy booking for the proposed Bullet Club show.
When asked about the main event that he’d book, Cody had the following to say:
“Me vs. Daniel Bryan for the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship. If I could have everything, that’s what I would do.” He said.
Cody and Bryan had a few exchanges on Twitter recently and this statement from the former WWE superstar adds more fuel to the rumours.
What’s next?
Reports suggest that there will be an official announcement about the Bullet Club show soon. Chicago, London, San Francisco, Ontario, and California are being reported as potential venues. As for Daniel Bryan, his contract with the WWE expires next year and he could be on his way out of the company.
Author’s take
The event itself is an ambitious project from the Bullet Club. Roping in Daniel Bryan to wrestle at the event is a long shot as well.
But there are positive signs for Cody and The Young Bucks; Bryan’s urge to get back into the ring is the biggest one. Nevertheless, if the Bullet Club manages to pull off this main event, they could fill up the venue and showcase their drawing power.
