Indie News: Johnny Mundo re-mortgaged house for new movie
What’s the story?
Johnny Mundo has revealed that he resorted to re-mortgaging his house in order to pay for his upcoming movie project. Mundo spoke about the issue and much more during a recent episode of former WWE superstar X-Pac’s podcast.
In case you didn’t know...
Mundo has been away from the WWE ever since 2011, and since then he’s been making some noise all around the world when it comes to both professional wrestling and acting. It’s no secret that the former IC Champion has always wanted to break into the movie business, and it seems as if he’s managing to balance the two career paths pretty well thus far.
The heart of the matter
Mundo recently sat down with X-Pac and spoke out about his upcoming movie project Boone: The Bounty Hunter. The project has been in the works for quite a long time now, with Mundo also producing and writing the material in addition to playing the starring role. After four long years, it’s set to be released soon, and Johnny has said that he doesn’t regret a thing.

What’s next?
Moving forward, we can all eagerly await the finished product, however, the majority of us are likely more interested in what Mundo’s next step will be in his pro wrestling career. The next season of Lucha Underground is coming up at some point in the near future, and that seems to be where Mundo’s priorities will lie for the time being.
Author’s take
It’s a little bit surprising to hear about the lengths that Johnny has gone to in order to make his film a success, but we applaud him for ‘going the extra mile’ in a way. Obviously, there’s every chance that it won’t end up how he thought, but at least he’s been able to put his heart and soul into something that is clearly a deep passion of his.
