What's the story?

Mike Johnson of PWInsider obtained the official press release that the streaming site Twitch provided with regard to their agreement with House of Hardcore.

In case you didn't know...

Former ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer founded House of Hardcore in 2012. Their slogan is, "no politics, no BS, just wrestling." There have been 33 events in total put on by the promotion, including 10 in 2017 alone.

The heart of the matter...

The content for House of Hardcore on Twitch will be up from Saturday, November 18th. You can subscribe to notifications for that channel at the following link; you just need to have a registered account with Twitch.

The following statement was also provided by Twitch in today's press release:

This is an incredible milestone for professional wrestling on Twitch as we expand this new and fast-growing content vertical," said Eric Brunner, Partnerships Manager, Twitch. “Our partnership with House of Hardcore not only gives our passionate community more of the wrestling content they have demanded, but also more of what it has always thrived on. Twitch has always been about engagement with vibrant entertainment personalities, much like Tommy Dreamer and other pro wrestlers."

The first House of Hardcore event on Twitch takes place November 18th, live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There are also plans for a weekly show, as Dreamer looks to change the model of the company from house-shows to a storyline-driven promotion.

Tommy Dreamer also commented on the press release about what this partnership means to not only his company, but pro wrestling in general. Take a look at his comments below:

"I have said for months that I have been waiting for the right deal to take House of Hardcore to the next level," said Tommy Dreamer, founder of House of Hardcore. "Our new tag team with Twitch puts HOH on the cutting edge of technology and will allow us to be seen before not only die-hard wrestling fans, but an entirely new generation of viewers who I hope will fall in love with pro wrestling just like I did as a kid. Twitch has helped change the world in how people view programming and is continuing to grow and evolve that. We look forward to innovating professional wrestling in the same way by spotlighting new stars on the platform Twitch has afforded us. Everything before today was just the prologue. Now, we kick into the true story of House of Hardcore."

What's next?

The night before House of Hardcore makes their debut on Twitch, they will have House of Hardcore 34 live from the Sports Arena in St. James, New York on November 17th. This will be Austin Aries' first appearance in pro wrestling since his release from the WWE in July.

Author's take...

As I said in my previous article when news of this broke, I am VERY excited to see Tommy Dreamer's promotion expand and be accessible to guys like me in the Midwest where the House of Hardcore has yet to travel.

Twitch is an amazing platform. I use it all the time to stream my gaming and watch others as well. I can't wait for November 18th to see some familiar names put on some great matches.
