From the Indie Rumor Mill:  Tommy Dreamer's House Of Hardcore signs a streaming deal

H
House Of Hardcore was founded by Tommy Dreamer a little over five years ago...

What's the story?

Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore (HOH) promotion signed a deal with Twitch for a weekly series and much more content. Apparently, Twitch will dedicate a specific channel solely to HOH programming.

In case you didn't know...

Former ECW World Champion Tommy Dreamer founded House of Hardcore in October 2012. To date, they have had 33 total shows with several familiar names wrestling for the promotion including The Young Bucks, Matt & Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam, Bobby Roode, and Cody Rhodes.

Twitch started in 2011 and is typically used as a platform to stream live gaming from a PC, XBOX One, or PlayStation 4. In 2014, Amazon announced that they purchased Twitch for $970 million.

The heart of the matter

In addition to a weekly series, Twitch will be airing live streams of their events as well. Dreamer is planning on using the Twitch platform to stream their return to the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 18th.

Mike Johnson mentions that with this Twitch deal, House Of Hardcore will run events more often. That will include their first ever trip to New Orleans during WrestleMania weekend in 2018.

Dreamer stated that with this deal, they will move from a house show format to more of a storyline-driven promotion. There are plans to crown the first ever champions for the House Of Hardcore sometime next year.

What's next?

The next show for House Of Hardcore will occur on November 17th in St. James, New York. They will not broadcast this particular show live on Twitch, but it will feature an appearance by Austin Aries.

Author's take

This is very exciting news for any fan of independent pro wrestling. Twitch is a very accessible platform, and it will enable to see some of the best that the independent scene has to offer; where you didn't have a way to previously.

This deal will also attract more wrestlers to the company as they start to get established as a brand with titles and storylines now. This is a big step for Tommy Dreamer and the House Of Hardcore promotion.
