Indie News: Young Bucks express desire to work with Hulk Hogan
What’s the story?
The Young Bucks recently sat down for an interview with Sports Illustrated, where they revealed some of their long-term future plans which includes them wanting to work with Hulk Hogan.
In case you didn’t know…
Hulk Hogan, who is one of the biggest names in professional wrestling history, has worked in WCW, WWF/WWE and also had three stints with New Japan Pro Wrestling in the past.
Hogan first wrestled for NJPW from 1980-85, before returning to WWF in the very same year. The former NWO leader then made his first return to NJPW in 1993 and his second return in 2003.
During his three NJPW runs he may not have won the IWGP Heavyweight Title, but Hogan has said in the past that the prestigious IWGP Heavyweight Title is definitely the most important championship in the world.
The heart of the matter
During the interview with Sports Illustrated, The Jackson brothers expressed their interest in working with Hulk Hogan whom they would love to have at ringside during a match at the Tokyo Dome.
“I’d love to welcome Hulk in. He’s honestly my favourite wrestler of all time, so working with him in any capacity would be fun,” said Matt Jackson.
Nick Jackson further added: “I’d love to have him walk us down the aisle, while three of us play the air guitar. That’d be a dream come true.”
Matt also spoke about WWE signing their former Bullet Club stablemate, Adam Cole, and said that they are “bringing people back from the dead.”
Nick Jackson added by saying that he hopes that he is happy for the ghost of Adam Cole and hopes that he makes millions of dollars one day.
What’s next?
The Young Bucks are currently holding the ROH Tag Team Titles and the ROH 6 man tag team titles, alongside Hangman Page.
The Bucks will defend the ROH Tag titles against Motor City Machine Guns at Death before Dishonor and also will defend their ROH 6 man tag titles against either The Kingdom or the team of Bully Ray & The Briscoe brothers on the very same night.
The Bucks had some kind words for their long term rivals Motor City Machine Guns, and said, “The Motor City Machine Guns are probably our greatest rivals ever."
Author's take
As far as the Hulk Hogan story goes, it seems like a possibility that we might see him accompany Matt and Nick to the ring and play a manager role in the Bullet Club in the future. The Hulkster could play a role similar to what Jeff Jarrett played a few years back for the Bullet Club.
