Interference in major title match; rivalry with RAW faction? - 4 ways Asuka can return to WWE

Asuka is a member of Damage CTRL on WWE RAW but has not been seen for months. She suffered a knee injury following WrestleMania and was pulled from the Queen of the Ring Tournament. The veteran last competed back in May at Backlash, where she and Kairi Sane lost the Women's Tag Team Championship to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belai.

The former champion has accomplished a lot in her career and could be getting set to return to action. WWE will likely have some interesting plans for the 43-year-old's long-awaited return.

Listed below are four ways Asuka could return to the company.

#4. Asuka could help Dakota Kai win the Women's Intercontinental Championship on WWE RAW

The company has introduced the Women's United States and Intercontinental Championships in recent weeks. The inaugural Women's US Champion will be crowned at Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend.

Dakota Kai is currently in the tournament for the Women's Intercontinental Championship and defeated Katana Chance and Shayna Baszler in a Triple Threat Match last week on RAW to advance to the next round. The former Women's Tag Team Champion has never won a singles title in the company, and Asuka could return to help her Damage CTRL stablemate become champion.

#3. The veteran could target Sonya Deville and Pure Fusion Collective

Pure Fusion Collective is a faction on WWE RAW that features Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark. The group has had issues with Damage CTRL in recent weeks, and Asuka could return to protect her stablemates.

Sonya Deville recently named The Empress of Tomorrow as her dream opponent in the company and noted that they had never had a storyline with each other on television. Deville may finally get her wish if the veteran returns to confront Pure Fusion Collective on RAW.

#2. She could interfere in the Women's World Championship match at Saturday Night's Main Event

IYO SKY won a Battle Royal last month on the red brand to become the number one contender for the Women's World Championship. The Genius of the Sky will be challenging Liv Morgan for the title at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.

Morgan will likely have The Judgment Day stars Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez ringside for her title defense this weekend. Asuka could return to even the odds at Saturday Night's Main Event and potentially help her stablemate become the new Women's World Champion.

#1. The former champion could transfer to WWE SmackDown to go after Nia Jax

Nia Jax is the reigning WWE Women's Champion and is aligned with Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae on SmackDown. The Irresistible Force recently shared that she was looking forward to getting back into the ring with Asuka, and claimed she was one of her toughest opponents.

The former Women's Tag Team Champion may return in the weeks ahead and use the transfer window to make the jump from RAW to SmackDown. She could then challenge Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship at a future premium live event.
